Chia pudding is a great make-ahead breakfast with one weakness: on its own it has very little protein. This protein chia pudding fixes that with milk, Greek yogurt and a scoop of vanilla protein, for 26 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber per jar.

Why it keeps you full

Chia seeds absorb about ten times their weight in liquid and add a lot of fiber. Combined with this much protein, a single jar holds most people until lunch.

Flavors

  • Chocolate: chocolate protein powder and 1 tbsp cocoa.
  • Peanut butter and jelly: swirl in 1 tsp peanut butter and top with mashed strawberries.
  • Mango coconut: a splash of coconut extract and diced mango.

Serving size tip

A half jar makes a 150-calorie snack with 13 grams of protein, which is also why it appears in our high-protein snacks.

    Questions people ask

How much protein does chia pudding have?

Classic chia pudding with almond milk has about 5 grams per serving. This version has 26 grams thanks to milk, Greek yogurt and protein powder.

Why is my chia pudding runny?

Not enough chia or not enough time. Give it at least 4 hours, and add another tablespoon of chia if your protein powder is thin.
